2026 Nissan Pathfinder AWD: Lighter, Marginally Faster, Family-Focused

The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder AWD is 75 pounds lighter than the 2022 model and reaches 60 mph 0.1 second sooner, delivering modest performance gains despite the V‑6 dating to the 2013 model year.

In testing the Pathfinder’s acceleration felt relaxed off the line and matched the Honda Pilot’s 60 mph time, while the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid was 0.3 second quicker; shifts from the nine-speed automatic were smooth but not especially quick. Occasional minor shudders occurred when the engine stop-start system restarted the V‑6.

Nissan’s ProPilot Assist performed well in stop-and-go traffic and combined with the Pathfinder’s good forward visibility helped reduce driver fatigue, and the cabin offers abundant storage and wide-opening rear doors for easier loading. The third row remains tight with 16.6 cubic feet of cargo behind it, trailing some rivals, and the Pathfinder’s magnetized wireless charger works best with newer phones (iPhone 12, Pixel 10 and newer), while a Pixel 9A would not stay in place.
