2027 Kia Seltos Debuts in New York; Hybrid Lineup to Arrive Months Later

At the New York International Auto Show, Kia unveiled the second‑generation 2027 Kia Seltos and said gas models will arrive this spring, with hybrid variants expected roughly six months later.

Kia confirmed two hybrid choices but did not provide power or efficiency figures: a front‑wheel‑drive hybrid and a stronger electric all‑wheel‑drive hybrid that adds a rear motor, while media and analysts note similarities to the Kia Niro and Toyota Corolla Cross hybrids.

The gas Seltos receives an updated on‑demand mechanical AWD system with lock and Snow mode plus software‑controlled Snow, Sand, and Mud settings, and Kia said some trims will offer up to 8.1 inches of ground clearance.

Kia stretched the wheelbase by 2.3 inches and revised interior packaging, increasing seats‑down cargo to 64.1 cubic feet and seats‑up volume to 27.8 cubic feet, and added a height‑adjustable luggage board and Kia Add Gear attachment points.
