BMW has unveiled the i3, the first fully electric 3 Series saloon, built on the 800V Gen6 platform and offering a claimed 559-mile range—the longest of any EV currently on sale in Europe.
The i3 packs a 108kWh NMC battery and dual motors delivering 463bhp and 476 lb ft, can add about 249 miles in 10 minutes at up to 400kW DC charging, and launches exclusively as 50 xDrive with a Touring estate and high-performance M3 EV due later in the decade.
