British start-up Audacious Automotive is recreating the Audi Quattro by fitting a supercharged 4.2-litre V8 from the B7 RS4, targeting a minimum of 600bhp and cutting at least 250kg.
Founder Mac Zaglewski is building the first commissioned Quattro with steel and aluminium coachwork, with a wider carbonfibre production run planned; Audacious bases the reborn Quattro on the RS4 chassis and Torsen rear-biased drive to retain a tactile manual, analogue driving character rather than modern Haldex-based platforms.
The supercharger raises output from the RS4’s standard 414bhp to at least 600bhp, while the new Quattro body takes styling cues from the Group B S1 rally car.
