Vauxhall has priced its facelifted Astra range—hybrid, plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and electric, offered as hatchback or Sports Tourer estate—uniformly from £29,995.
The Astra PHEV pairs a 1.6-litre turbo with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a 17.2kWh battery for 192bhp and 266lb ft, with an official electric range of 52 miles and Vauxhall claiming about 52.3mpg when the battery is flat. Emissions are rated at 50g/km for the hatch and 51g/km for the estate, and testers found the PHEV notably more refined, better weighted in steering and capable of roughly 40 miles real-world EV range in one drive.
