Mercedes-AMG Prepares Race-Bred GT Black Series Ahead of New GT3

Mercedes-AMG is developing a new GT Black Series closely tied to the next-generation AMG GT3 race car, with both cars reportedly undergoing side-by-side testing and the road car positioned as an even closer-to-race, road-legal model.

Camouflaged prototypes seen at the Nürburgring used yellow-green livery to identify the GT Black Series while red marked the GT3, and images show shared aerodynamics, rear-window wing placement and similar bodywork; Mercedes-AMG expects a realistic arrival in mid- to late-2026 as a 2027 model-year car, with the 2021 GT Black Series having retailed for $327,050.
