Mercedes says the AMG GT Track Sport concept will spawn two production cars: a new Mercedes‑AMG GT Black Series and a GT3 race car.
The Track Sport prototype has been testing since October at Mercedes' Immendingen track and at Bilster Berg, Portimão, Monteblanco and now the Nürburgring, and it will act as the homologation basis for the next GT3, which likely won't race until 2027 at the earliest. Mercedes calls the upcoming Black Series "the most radical Black Series model to date" and notes the concept's wrap denotes future colors: red for the GT3 and highlighter yellow for the Black Series; the previous 2021 Black Series used a twin‑turbo 4.0‑liter V‑8 producing 720 horsepower.
