Sony Honda Mobility has confirmed it is discontinuing development and launch of the Afeela 1 electric sedan and the planned Afeela SUV after Honda pulled back on its U.S. EV plans and could not provide key technologies.
The company said it lacks a viable path to market without Honda’s assets, will refund reservation fees, and will continue discussions with Sony and Honda about future plans; the Afeela 1 had been shown at CES with an estimated ~300-mile range and base prices near $89,900–$102,900.
