Carrera GT Tops Nurburgring with New Michelin Cup 2 N0 Tires

The Porsche Carrera GT recorded a new Nürburgring lap time of 7:12.69 with Porsche development driver Jörg Bergmeister at the wheel after being fitted with bespoke Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 N0 tires.

The lap beat the previous Carrera GT record by 16 seconds following Michelin and Porsche’s October development of the Cup 2 N0 for the model, with Porsche reporting a stopping-distance reduction of just over eight feet at 124 mph. The 604-hp, six-speed manual Carrera GT retained its original configuration while Bergmeister said the new tyres improved feel and confidence under braking.
