Acura Celebrates 40 Years with Recreated Integra 40 Racer

Acura is marking its 40th anniversary by unveiling the Acura Integra 40 Racer, a race-ready recreation of its IMSA Comptech Integra debuting at the Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Built by Honda Racing Corporation USA and wearing No. 40, the Integra 40 Racer honors the Comptech car that won IMSA manufacturers' titles in 1987–88 and a drivers' title in 1990.

It uses a rebuilt D16A1 1.6-liter DOHC engine with long-tube headers and a Borla exhaust, a five-speed manual to a limited-slip differential, and race suspension and brakes on Yokohama ADVAN tires. The interior is stripped for competition with OMP seats, six-point belts and a roll cage, while the Acura Integra 40 Racer keeps its dashboard but removes comfort items.
