Chevy Unveils Grand Sport X: 721‑HP Electrified Corvette Replacing the E‑Ray

Chevrolet has shelved the E-Ray for 2027 and introduced the electrified Corvette Grand Sport X, a 721-horsepower, performance-focused hybrid replacing the E-Ray.

The Grand Sport X swaps the E-Ray’s LT2 for GM’s 535‑hp LS6 and fits a 186‑hp front motor from the ZR1X, producing a combined 721 hp and using a ported ZR1X battery.

Chevy revised battery management and added three battery modes—Endurance, Push-to-Pass and Qualifying—to tailor boost and conserve energy for track use, shifting the Corvette Grand Sport X toward outright performance rather than grand touring. The Grand Sport X can be optioned with touring suspension and all-season tires or a performance package with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and carbon ceramic brakes; Chevrolet has not announced 2027 pricing.
