A 1978 Ford Escort built for Ken Block's stunt work has appeared on Bring a Trailer after a two-year build tailored for tarmac obstacle-course driving. The listing highlights the car's purpose as a tire-shredding, rear-wheel-drive stunt machine.
The Escort is powered by a Millington Diamond 2.5-liter inline-four with individual throttle bodies and a Cosworth ECU, producing 333 hp and a 9,000 rpm redline. It pairs with a six-speed sequential gearbox and rear-wheel drive for a tarmac-focused setup.
The build features a Rocket Bunny carbon-fiber widebody, a reinforced unibody with a welded roll cage, lightweight glass and carbon seats. Ken Block used the 1978 Ford Escort as his first rear-wheel-drive stunt car, a bridge to later projects like the Hoonicorn.
