FTC Alerts 97 Dealership Groups Over Listings Left Posted After Sales

The Federal Trade Commission has begun contacting car dealerships about potentially illegal advertising practices, sending letters to 97 dealership groups for leaving vehicle listings posted after a sale, Automotive News reports.

Automotive News reported that violations could carry fines up to $50,000 per infraction, and Car and Driver contacted the Federal Trade Commission for comment but has not heard back.
