The Citroën C3 Pluriel could function as a three-door saloon, a panoramic-roof saloon, a cabriolet with fixed door frames, a full Spider convertible, or a Spider Pick-Up two-seat light-duty pickup, and its concept drew inspiration from the adaptable Citroën 2CV.
The car’s removable roof rails had to be removed, stored and refitted to change configurations, creating practical drawbacks. Autopian says the C3 Pluriel’s engineering nonetheless demonstrated inventive modular thinking that made the model stand out in the small-car segment.
