A 2005 Lexus SC430 Pebble Beach Edition convertible, one of roughly 600 built for 2005, is notable for its aluminum power hardtop, V8 power, navigation screen and a factory cassette player.
The SC430 uses Toyota's UZZ40 DOHC V8 rated at 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque paired with a five-speed automatic. The model was introduced in 2001 as a convertible replacement for the SC400 and was marketed as a grand tourer rather than a pure sport coupe.
The Pebble Beach package included Black Diamond Pearl paint, pimento-red leather, black bird's-eye maple trim, special badging and graphite-accented five-spoke wheels, and accounts for about 600 of the roughly 9,000 SC430s produced. The Lexus SC430 remains notable as one of the last new cars to offer a cassette deck in the dash.
