Jeep Signals Manual May Return to Wrangler-Based Pickup

Jeep may restore a manual transmission to a Wrangler-related pickup, an apparent reference to the Gladiator, according to a CarBuzz report quoting Aamir Ahmed, Jeep's global head of off-road.

The Gladiator lost its manual-transmission option for 2024, while Jeep has offered manual gearboxes on the Wrangler line since 1987. Manuals are currently offered only on V-6 Wrangler models, and the Wrangler Laredo Concept recently showcased a manual at the brand's Easter Safari event in Moab, Utah.

If Jeep reintroduces a manual to the Gladiator, the U.S. market would gain a second new manual-transmission pickup alongside the Toyota Tacoma. Ahmed told CarBuzz "Stay tuned," and Jeep has not announced official details or timing.
