Handcuffed Woman Climbs Out Open Cruiser Window in Muskegon Heights, Later Recaptured

A handcuffed woman escaped from the back of a Muskegon Heights Police cruiser by climbing through a partially open window and fled, CBS News reported.

Muskegon Heights Police had detained the woman after responding to a vehicle parked near a closed business; an officer with a fingerprint scanner identified her and found she was wanted for a parole violation.

While handcuffed in the rear seat with the window partly open, the woman maneuvered out of the cruiser and ran before officers realized she was gone. Muskegon Heights Police later connected her to a reported break-in and she evaded officers for several days until found hiding in a vacant home.

According to CBS News, she was arrested again and booked into the Muskegon County Jail where she remains in custody.
