More Than One Million Toyota Vehicles Recalled Across Nine Actions in 2026

Toyota has issued nine recalls so far in 2026 affecting 1,024,794 vehicles, led by a 550,000‑unit recall of Highlander SUVs for second‑row reclining seats that may not lock and a smallest recall of 79 headlights intended for bz4X EVs.

Other notable actions include a recall of 2024–2025 Tundra trucks for rearview camera images that may not display and a nearly 150,000‑unit recall of Prius models for rear doors that may unexpectedly open.

Through April 2, 2026, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recorded Toyota's nine recalls, placing Toyota third in number of recalls behind General Motors and Ford Motor Company, while Ford recalled nearly 7.5 million vehicles in the year's first three months.
