Corey Day Wins Rockingham Pole for NASCAR O’Reilly Series

Corey Day, a driver for Hendrick Motorsports, put the No. 17 Chevrolet on pole for Saturday's NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Rockingham with a 27.717-second lap.

Jesse Love, the reigning series champion driving the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet, will start second after falling 0.064 seconds short of the top spot; Day said the car felt very good and that track position will be crucial.

Driver Parker Retzlaff qualified third, followed by drivers Justin Allgaier and Carson Kvapil, while drivers Taylor Gray, Sam Mayer, Brandon Jones, Sheldon Creed, and Brent Crews completed the top ten.

Cleetus McFarland (Garrett Mitchell), a popular YouTuber, went out first in the No. 33 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet and will start 35th after beating both Joey Gase Motorsports entries, and with AM Racing withdrawing the No. 25 entry of driver Nick Sanchez earlier in the week no cars failed to qualify.
