Chevrolet Corvette Stop-Sale on 3,324 Cars Over Turn-Signal Software Bug, OTA Fix Planned

A stop-sale order covers 3,324 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles — 2,886 2026 models and 438 2025 models — after faulty software in the Rear Brake Light Outage Detection system prevented warnings when rear turn signals failed.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued notice 26V213 and GM lists the issue under program number N252541250; GM Authority reports the stop-sale affects all Corvettes currently in dealer inventory. MotorTrend verified the recall entry on GM’s recall website by checking a 2026 Corvette VIN, while the recall was not yet listed on the NHTSA recall database.

GM is distributing an over-the-air (OTA) software update to correct the exterior lighting control module; owners can install the OTA themselves or have dealers apply the patch, after which vehicles may be sold. MotorTrend reports the 2026 update is already rolling out to some cars while a patch for 2025 models remains under development.
