Porsche is evaluating whether to continue its Porsche Penske Motorsport LMDh program in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship beyond the 2026 season, Porsche LMDh factory director Urs Kuratle said.
Kuratle said a "level playing field" and bigger competition from major brands would be key for Porsche to remain in IMSA. He also called for Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) entries in IMSA and a single technical rule set for LMH and LMDh.
Porsche ended its joint Hypercar venture with Team Penske in the FIA World Endurance Championship at the end of 2025, completing a three-year effort with three wins and 15 podiums. The LMDh program is planned through 2027 and Porsche has 13 IMSA victories, including three straight Rolex 24 at Daytona and consecutive 1-2 championship finishes.
