Chevrolet Camaro Rumored to Share GM Sedan Platform, Possible Buick Variant

Automotive News reports the next Chevrolet Camaro is expected to share underpinnings with new GM sedans and may spawn a Buick variant, and GM president Mark Reuss has said the Camaro nameplate could be repurposed.

The previous-generation Camaro and Cadillac CT4/CT5 shared a platform and were assembled at GM’s Lansing Grand River plant, and earlier reports linked a gasoline-powered CT5 replacement to this architecture.

The report and commentary note that key pony-car attributes—compact, relatively lightweight chassis, rear-wheel drive and affordable V8 options—have become less common in recent market iterations.

Chevrolet and GM have not confirmed details, so powertrain, body style and production plans for the next Camaro, Buick variant or related sedans remain unverified.
