Mercedes to Give Doriane Pin a Private F1 Test After Joining as 2026 Development Driver

Doriane Pin, the 2025 F1 Academy champion, said Mercedes plans to give her a private Formula 1 car test after she signed with the team as a development driver for 2026.

Pin made the revelation on the Beyond The Grid podcast and said Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff had discussed the potential test following strong simulator performances; she added she has not yet had a seat fit.

Alongside her Mercedes development duties, Doriane Pin has returned to endurance racing and moved into the LMP2 Pro-Am class in 2026, while Susie Wolff last drove in an F1 free practice in 2014 and Jessica Hawkins last carried out a private F1 test in 2023.
