Dealership Quotes $504 for Front Brake Pads; TikTok User Buys O’Reilly Pads for $75

TikTok user Jon (@vermeer2020) said a dealership quoted him $504 to replace the front brake pads on his wife's car, so he bought pads at O'Reilly Auto Parts for $75 and had them installed for $50.

In the TikTok video, which has over 41,100 views, Jon reports the dealership clarified the $504 figure was only for the pads, excluding rotors and labor, and he declined the service.

AAA says brake-pad replacements typically cost $100–$300 per axle, while Advance Auto Parts and CarParts list individual pad prices from about $8 to $230, making the dealership quote well above common ranges.

Jon questioned the dealership pricing and joked about "golden ceramics" as he highlighted that sourcing parts from O'Reilly Auto Parts and using a local installer cut his cost dramatically.
