Thierry Neuville, Hyundai driver, holds a 1m14.5s lead into the final day of the Croatia Rally and is focused on securing Hyundai its first World Rally Championship victory this season to end Toyota’s 100% winning streak.
Hyundai has struggled early in the year as its upgraded i20 N underperformed on low-grip asphalt, leaving drivers short of confidence after Toyota swept the podium in Monte Carlo and Sweden. Hyundai's Adrien Fourmaux took second at the Safari Rally Kenya last month, giving the team a recent strong result.
Toyota driver Sami Pajari lost around two minutes with a puncture in stage 14 after leading much of the event, calling the day "a bit disappointing." Neuville said he would concentrate on "bringing it home for the team" across the final four stages.
