Ducati rider Marc Marquez has gone nine grands prix without a victory since winning the San Marino Grand Prix on 14 September 2025, despite sealing the 2025 world championship with a second-place finish at Motegi.
Less than a week after Motegi, Marquez was injured at Mandalika when struck by Marco Bezzecchi, MotoGP rider, sustaining a right shoulder injury that ended his run of 11 wins from the first 16 races of 2025 and caused him to miss several late-2025 events.
Marquez has raced in only four events since Japan 2025 and failed to win, while Marco Bezzecchi has taken multiple victories across late 2025 and early 2026, including Portimao and Valencia.
Marquez previously endured longer droughts after his 2020 Jerez arm injury and a 53-race winless stretch from 2021–24; he left Honda to join Gresini and then Ducati, taking his first Ducati victory at Aragon after 11 starts.
