Lance Stroll, a Formula 1 driver, finished 48th of 49 in the GT World Challenge Europe six-hour at Paul Ricard driving the #18 Comtoyou Racing Aston Martin.
Mari Boya, his co-driver, started the race before Roberto Merhi, another co-driver, handed over mid-race, and Lance Stroll completed a single night stint after limited night practice caused by technical issues.
The #18 crew collected penalties for going off-track and failing to respect blue flags, with Mari Boya also given a stop-and-go for a collision; Roberto Merhi was 38th at his handover and the car could not climb the order.
Comtoyou’s other Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo, the #7 driven by Mattia Drudi, Marco Sorensen, and Nicki Thiim, won, while Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen’s Mercedes-running squad took ninth and Verstappen will race at Nurburgring prep events with Lucas Auer.
