Mercedes-Benz Launches 40-Model Push to Reclaim U.S. Luxury Lead

Mercedes-Benz will launch 40 new or updated models over the next three years to regain U.S. luxury sales leadership, Ola Källenius, chairman of the board of management and Mercedes‑Benz Group CEO, told MotorTrend.

Mercedes‑Benz sold 303,200 vehicles in the U.S. in 2025, trailing BMW (388,897) and Lexus (370,260), and is targeting annual U.S. sales of 400,000 by the end of the decade. BMW has been the U.S. top-selling luxury brand for seven years.

Adam Chamberlain, CEO of Mercedes‑Benz USA, said the company is concentrating on core SUVs and product depth, citing an all‑new GLC and significant updates to the GLE. Mercedes unveiled the 2027 GLE and 2027 GLS in Tuscaloosa, Alabama during Källenius’s interview with MotorTrend.
