A long-term 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser in the publication’s fleet required three windshield replacements and a chip repair over 10 months and roughly 25,000 miles, costing more than $4,000.
The first replacement followed travel on Alaska’s Dalton Highway and cost $1,691.58 including recalibration of the forward-looking camera behind the glass. A September chip was later filled for $88 during October service.
Subsequent freeway incidents produced another chip and then a top-edge rock that became a footlong crack. A second Toyota Land Cruiser windshield replacement and camera recalibration cost $2,360.72, about 40% more than the August 2025 job.
Total spent was $4,052.30 on windshield replacements, or $4,140.30 including the chip repair, all within about 10 months and 25,000 miles.
