Pedro Acosta, KTM MotoGP rider, said KTM's updated RC16 still lags Aprilia and Ducati in cornering, a deficit he believes has cost the team in the early 2026 season.
Marco Bezzecchi, Aprilia factory rider, extended a winning streak across the opening flyaway rounds while KTM's revisions made the RC16 more competitive and helped KTM rise to second in the teams' standings and third in the constructors' table.
Acosta said Aprilia's machines turn better and that KTM has improved tyre management but remains behind, and he urged KTM to find a base setup that lets teammates like Enea Bastianini, KTM rider, run near the sharp end of the grid.
Acosta is third in the championship with two grand prix podiums, a sprint win and 60 points, and he expects the European leg's cooler tracks to clarify the pecking order as he assesses where a first MotoGP win might come.
