Porsche’s Laurin Heinrich Quickest in Long Beach Practice for JDC‑Miller Porsche 963

Laurin Heinrich, 24-year-old German driver for Porsche Penske Motorsport, set the fastest time in opening practice at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach while co-driving the No. 5 JDC‑Miller MotorSports Porsche 963.

Heinrich, who won the opening two IMSA endurance rounds with Porsche Penske Motorsport, was temporarily assigned to privateer JDC‑Miller MotorSports and topped practice in his first visit to the 1.968‑mile street circuit, Motorsport.com reported.

Heinrich will contest all sprint rounds and the Road America endurance race with JDC‑Miller, will miss Watkins Glen due to a clash with the 24 Hours of Spa, and is set to rejoin the No. 7 Porsche Penske Motorsport entry for the season finale at Road Atlanta.

JDC‑Miller declined Porsche's new Evo update and received a smaller Balance of Performance adjustment (+5 kg to 1,060 kg and 1.7%/1.1% power reductions), while Porsche Penske Motorsport was handed +45 kg to 1,100 kg with larger power cuts.
