Cadillac F1 Praised by Alex Jacques After Promising Start to 2026

Formula 1 commentator Alex Jacques praised the new Cadillac F1 team for exceeding expectations in the first three rounds of the 2026 season.

The American outfit joined the championship in 2026 as the grid expanded to 11 teams and fields drivers Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez under team principal Graeme Lowdon, and it is currently 10th in the constructors' standings.

Jacques compared Cadillac to Aston Martin, saying it "sounds mad" to praise a team level on points with the Silverstone outfit but noting paddock predictions expected the car to be several seconds off the pace. Former driver and F1 TV presenter Jolyon Palmer said he had "punchier expectations" but described the team as "absolutely solid", citing technical leads Pat Symonds and Nick Chester and urging Cadillac to add downforce and development to join the midfield fight.
