Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi Dominant but Six Crashes Dent 2026 MotoGP Lead

Aprilia rider Marco Bezzecchi leads the 2026 MotoGP standings after winning five consecutive full-length races on the factory RS-GP, but six crashes and two sprint DNFs in the first three rounds have reduced his points cushion.

Bezzecchi, 27, has 81 points, four clear of his Aprilia team-mate, yet has fallen more often than any rival with six recorded crashes across Buriram, Goiania and Austin; he completed only one sprint so far, finishing fourth in Goiania.

Those Saturday sprint failures have cost Bezzecchi points and allowed rivals such as riders Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta to seize opportunities, while Bezzecchi says he must improve his Saturday performance despite running at arguably the best form of his career on the Aprilia RS-GP.
