C8 Corvette Gets 6.7l LS6 Small‑Block, Boosting Output to 535 HP

Chevrolet is replacing the LT2 6.2‑liter V‑8 in the base C8 Corvette and Z51 Stingray with a new 6.7‑liter LS6 small‑block that raises output to 535 hp and 520 lb‑ft, returns V‑8 production to Flint, Michigan, and does not offer a manual transmission.

The LS6 uses a longer 3.94‑inch stroke, 13.0:1 compression and a tunnel‑ram intake, combines direct and port injection to cut particulates and reduce valve carbon, and bumps torque and horsepower by 50 lb‑ft and 40 hp over the LT2; the C8 Corvette offers two active‑valved four‑tip exhaust layouts with no change in peak output.
