Chevrolet executive chief engineer Tony Roma and vehicle chief engineer Josh Holder said at Sebring that the C8 Corvette will not be offered with a manual transmission, calling Tremec's six-speed SEMA transaxle "not real."
Holder said GM has no plans to engineer a manual for the C8 Corvette because of insufficient demand and business priorities, while Roma emphasized the factory eight-speed dual-clutch transmission delivers superior performance and helps keep ownership and pricing competitive; C7 manual take rate was 26.6 percent, per CorvetteBlogger.
