Christian Eckes Collision Ends Corey Heim’s Triple Truck Challenge Sweep Bid at Bristol

Christian Eckes (driver) made contact with Corey Heim (driver) late in the NASCAR Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway, spinning Heim and ending Heim's chance to complete a $500,000 Triple Truck Challenge sweep.

Eckes had led a race-high 132 laps and led the field to green before Heim nudged him in Turn 3; Eckes then turned left, caught the right rear of the Tricon Garage No. 1 and triggered a wreck that also collected Kaden Honeycutt and Layne Riggs.

Christian Eckes said he misjudged the move, did not intend to spin or hit Heim and expressed remorse after the race, while Corey Heim said he believed Eckes misjudged it, they texted that night and there was no lingering bad blood.

Corey Heim had won at Darlington for $50,000 and at Rockingham for $100,000; a Bristol victory would have completed the Triple Truck Challenge sweep worth $500,000.
