Alex Marquez, Gresini MotoGP rider, says he is "still missing maybe 20%" from Ducati's 2026 GP26, leaving several races feeling like a battle for survival.
Marquez has scored 28 points from the opening three rounds and sits eighth in the riders' standings. Despite being fitted with factory-spec Ducati machinery, he has managed just over half the early points of Fabio di Giannantonio at VR46.
Marquez says the GP26 does not suit his riding style the way the GP24 did, even though he kept several 2024 Desmosedici components, including the aerodynamic configuration, and logged significant pre-season and flyaway mileage.
He said he remains motivated to keep working, welcomed the cancellation of Qatar as extra time to analyse items, and expects to take a step forward at Jerez.
