FEMA’s Gregg Phillips Says God ‘Teleported’ Him to a Waffle House on Podcast

Gregg Phillips, head of the Office of Response and Recovery at FEMA, told the Onward podcast that he believes God teleported him to a Waffle House and previously into a ditch, People reported.

The FEMA Office of Response and Recovery oversees about 1,000 personnel and roughly $300 million in resources, according to The New York Times, and Phillips's December appointment drew criticism because he is known as an election truther favored by President Donald Trump.

The Houston Chronicle reported that Gregg Phillips was removed from the Texas state health department after steering an additional $20 million to a contractor; Phillips has said his remarks were taken out of context and that he is undergoing treatment, according to People and his podcast comments.
