Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider: 6.5l Naturally Aspirated V12 Delivers 819 HP and 211 Mph

The Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider is powered by a revised naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 that produces 819 horsepower and 500 lb-ft, accelerates to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, reaches a 211 mph top speed, and lists for $661,000.

Codenamed F140HD, the engine borrows hardware, software and tuning from the 812 Competizione and has been retuned and lightened for this application. New aluminum alloys and increased use of titanium reduce rotating mass by about 40%, enabling a 9,500 rpm redline.

A digital gauge shows engine temperature and the motor may require roughly five minutes of idling to reach operating temperature. On start-up the V12 emits a loud bark that settles into a deep rumble and produces a high‑pitched exhaust note when revved.

Ferrari positions the 12Cilindri Spider as a front‑engined, V12 flagship convertible that builds on the brand’s recent V12 architecture used in models such as the Purosangue and 812 Competizione. The package emphasizes high‑revving performance, lightweight engineering and distinctive engine sound.
