Ford's GT Mk IV, driven by Ford Racing factory driver Frédéric Vervisch, recorded a 6:15.977 lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, placing it third-fastest overall and the fastest gas-only car to date.
The track-only GT Mk IV is not eligible for the Nürburgring production-car category, which is led by the Mercedes-AMG One's 6:29.050 lap set in 2024. That Mercedes-AMG One time remains the benchmark among production cars.
The 6:15.977 places the Ford GT Mk IV behind the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo (5:19.546) and the Volkswagen ID.R (6:05.336) but ahead of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Prototype and Lotus Evija. Ford plans 67 hand-built GT Mk IV units priced above $1.7 million, featuring a revised EcoBoost V‑6 with over 800 horsepower and race-spec components, and Frédéric Vervisch piloted the run.
