Ford Renames Carroll Shelby Way to Raptor Way and Navigator Avenue at Dearborn HQ

Ford will rename two Dearborn campus roads honoring legendary racer and car builder Carroll Shelby to Raptor Way and Navigator Avenue, effective in May.

Carroll Shelby Way West will become Raptor Way and Carroll Shelby Way East will become Navigator Avenue; the project also renames Village Road to Mustang Alley and South Pond Road to Bronco Bend as the Product Development Center is converted into labs, Ford Racing offices and a fitness center.

Ford revealed the changes in an April 9 update on its 350-acre headquarters renovation, which will also replace the Glass House building, and the project is scheduled for completion in 2029. A Ford spokesperson said the renames reflect iconic Ford products and aim to connect employees' work to campus design.

The Carroll Shelby Way designation dated from 2012 after Carroll Shelby's death when Ford obtained City of Dearborn permission, and Ford is reportedly working with city officials again to approve the new street names.
