Formula 2 Added to F1 Miami and Montreal Weekends After Middle East Cancellations

Formula 2 will race on the undercard at the Miami Grand Prix and the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal in May, F1 and the FIA confirmed, replacing the cancelled rounds in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Stefano Domenicali, F1 CEO and president, praised the addition and thanked Bruno Michel, F2 CEO, for coordinating with F1, the FIA and the Miami and Montreal promoters to limit the championship’s lengthy gap; Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA president, said the new rounds strengthen F2’s global reach.

The Montreal event will clash with the Indianapolis 500, preventing F2 driver and Cadillac F1 test driver Colton Herta from taking part in Indy; Formula 2 will now stage 13 rounds this season after the opener in Melbourne.
