Gamota BMW Takes Surprise Pole at 2026 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers

Gamota BMW claimed pole for the first race of the 2026 24h Nürburgring Qualifiers when driver David Jahn set an 8m09.488s lap in a session that was temporarily red-flagged.

The Pro-Am #11 Schnitzelalm Mercedes qualified second, followed by the #47 KCMG Mercedes and the #48 Black Falcon Porsche, while Manthey Porsche's #911 "Grello" finished 12th. The #3 Winward Mercedes was driven by drivers Max Verstappen and Lucas Auer and qualified sixth but faces review after Lucas Auer collided with the #941 Porsche Cayman from Team Adrenalin.

The session was red-flagged about 16 minutes in after driver Anders Buchardt in the Walkenhorst Aston Martin crashed at Adenauer Forst; Buchardt was uninjured but barrier damage required roughly 50 minutes of repairs.

Gamota BMW will start from pole when the scheduled four-hour race begins at 17:30 CEST (16:30 BST), with stewards to decide any penalties from the qualifying incidents before the race.
