GM Halts Sales and Recalls Select 2025–2026 Chevrolet Corvettes Over Turn-Signal Alert Bug

General Motors has issued a stop-sale and recall for certain 2025 and 2026 Chevrolet Corvette models after faulty exterior lighting control module software may fail to alert drivers to rear turn-signal failures.

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards require warning of turn-signal malfunctions, and Chevrolet dealers are holding affected cars from sale until the software is corrected. General Motors says a software update will fix the issue; owners with over-the-air updates can be repaired remotely while others must visit a dealer.

MotorTrend verified the recall on GM’s site via a VIN check, and reporting from Corvette Blogger and the Mid Engine Corvette Forum suggests the fix is currently ready only for 2026 models. Dealer data shows 438 affected 2025 cars and 2,886 affected 2026 cars, many of which appear to be on dealer lots and can be updated and returned to sale.
