A man who had bought a 15,000–16,000 lb fifth-wheel was told by Bam from Crump Reese Motor Company that the GMC Canyon AT4X cannot legally tow it because its maximum Gross Combined Weight Rating is 6,250 pounds.
In a TikTok, Bam recounted a call with a buyer interested in a Coastal Dune GMC Canyon AT4X, explaining the truck is roughly 10,000 pounds short of the trailer's weight and therefore unsuitable. Bam told the buyer the situation would be illegal and unsafe and suggested considering a GMC Sierra HD instead.
Crump Reese Motor Company and Bam used the video to emphasize that drivers must check a vehicle's tow rating before hauling, noting a GMC Canyon is not appropriate for heavy fifth-wheel trailers.
