Hyundai Recalls Top 1.1m Vehicles in 2026 After Palisade Airbag and Rear Power‑Seat Defects

Hyundai has issued eight recalls so far this year that together cover just over 1.1 million vehicles, the largest being a January recall of more than 568,000 previous‑generation Palisade SUVs for side curtain airbags that may improperly deploy.

Hyundai also recalled the new Palisade for a defect in rear power seats linked to the death of a child, and the automaker placed the model on stop‑sale while it develops a remedy.

Hyundai's smallest recall covered 27 electric vehicles with high‑voltage batteries that may catch fire.

The eight recalls were issued through April 14, 2026, and cover multiple Hyundai models including the Palisade and select EVs; the actions range from targeted fixes to large‑scale remedies.
