At the 2026 New York Auto Show, Tiago Castro, Senior Vice President of U.S. Marketing and Sales of Nissan and Infiniti, told The Drive that Infiniti will produce a high‑horsepower sport sedan offered with a manual transmission.
Castro confirmed the vehicle is a sedan but declined to specify horsepower figures, and he said the car will likely be based on the latest Nissan Z architecture and its manual gearbox.
Castro said he expects sales volume to be low and described the manual as a niche yet important way to reconnect Infiniti with its enthusiast customer base.
The Drive recalled abandoned projects such as the Q60 Black S and Q50 Eau Rouge and noted current Nissan and Infiniti leadership includes enthusiasts, a factor cited in discussions about reviving performance models.
