Infiniti Confirms Manual, High‑Horsepower Sports Sedan, Says Tiago Castro

At the 2026 New York Auto Show, Tiago Castro, Senior Vice President of U.S. Marketing and Sales of Nissan and Infiniti, told The Drive that Infiniti will produce a high‑horsepower sport sedan offered with a manual transmission.

Castro confirmed the vehicle is a sedan but declined to specify horsepower figures, and he said the car will likely be based on the latest Nissan Z architecture and its manual gearbox.

Castro said he expects sales volume to be low and described the manual as a niche yet important way to reconnect Infiniti with its enthusiast customer base.

The Drive recalled abandoned projects such as the Q60 Black S and Q50 Eau Rouge and noted current Nissan and Infiniti leadership includes enthusiasts, a factor cited in discussions about reviving performance models.
