Jeep confirmed to Car and Driver that the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will return later this year and that it will wear the brand's Trail Rated badge.
Jeep said the returning Grand Cherokee Trailhawk will offer increased ground clearance, knobbier tires, and improved suspension articulation compared with on-road trims, matching previous Trailhawk hardware. Jeep previously planned the Trailhawk as a 4xe plug-in hybrid but later removed its PHEV lineup, and the company did not confirm which powertrains—standard V-6, available turbo four, or both—will be offered.
Jeep provided no launch date but released a teaser image showing a black Grand Cherokee with red hood decals, amber daytime running lights, and distinctive red front tow hooks; Car and Driver suggests the return could align with a 2027 model introduction.
