Kia to Bring HEV and EREV Pickup to North America by 2030

Kia announced at its Investor Day in Seoul that it will introduce a dedicated hybrid (HEV) and extended-range electric (EREV) pickup to the North American market around 2030.

Kia CEO Ho Sung Song said the brand entered the pickup segment in emerging economies in 2025 with the Tasman, a body-on-frame model developed mainly for Australia and New Zealand. Ho Sung Song also set growth targets including raising U.S. sales from about 850,000 last year toward one million by 2030 and leveraging HEV technology for the new truck.

Kia plans to build roughly 90,000 trucks annually starting around 2030 and aims for about 7% of the North American mid-size pickup market by 2034. Automotive News reported a teaser of the truck exists, though Kia has not posted its 2026 Investor Day video publicly.
