Kia will offer a performance version of the EV3 in the U.S., the EV3 GT, equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system rated at 288 horsepower and an 81.4 kWh battery.
Kia calls the EV3 GT an SUV, though its proportions and packaging align more closely with subcompact hatchbacks; the European-spec EV3 lists a curb weight of 4,409 pounds and the model uses a 400-volt charging architecture.
The EV3 GT includes a simulated manumatic mode similar to the EV6 GT and Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and adds firmer MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension, sharper steering calibration, taller-bolstered seats, and larger brake calipers to enhance handling and driver engagement.
